Royal Canin Kitten Sterilised is a complete and balanced dry food for sterilized kittens aged 6–12 months. Dehydrated poultry protein is first on the ingredient list; it contains 34% protein and 12% fat. Available at Petidi in a 2 kg bag.

Why Royal Canin Kitten Sterilised?

  • Growth and weight control: Royal Canin states that it contains a moderate level of fat to counter the increased risk of weight gain after sterilization, while providing enough protein, calcium (1.04%) and phosphorus (0.95%) for healthy growth.
  • Immunity: An antioxidant complex with vitamin E (420 mg/kg) and vitamin C (180 mg/kg) is added; Royal Canin states that it supports the kitten's immune system.
  • Brain and eye development: Contains DHA from algal oil (0.14%); Royal Canin states that it supports brain development and vision.
  • Digestion: Royal Canin states that prebiotics (MOS) and highly digestible proteins support the intestinal flora.

Ingredients: Dehydrated poultry protein, wheat gluten*, vegetable fibers, wheat flour, animal fats, hydrolyzed poultry protein, corn flour, rice, corn, corn gluten, beet pulp, minerals, soy oil, yeast products, psyllium husks and seeds, fish oil, fructo-oligosaccharides, hydrolyzed yeast (source of mannan-oligosaccharides and beta-glucans) (0.27%), algal oil Schizochytrium sp. (source of DHA), marigold meal (source of lutein). *L.I.P.: protein selected for its very high digestibility, according to Royal Canin.

For mixed feeding, Royal Canin recommends reducing the dry food and adding 1 pouch of wet food a day.

For example, an 8-month-old kitten fed dry food only eats about 73 g a day. At that amount a 2 kg bag lasts about 27 days. This food is formulated especially for spayed or neutered kittens from 6 to 12 months old.
How is it different from regular Kitten food?
After spaying or neutering, your cat's metabolism slows down and they become prone to weight gain, but growth continues. This food has less fat than regular kitten foods. This way, your kitten's muscle and bone development continues while excess fat gain is prevented.
Which food should I switch to when my cat turns 1 (12 months)?
Your cat is considered an adult at 12 months. At this stage, the best choice is to switch to Royal Canin Sterilised 37, made especially for sterilized adult cats. Remember to switch gradually over 7–10 days, mixing the old and new food.
Does it prevent urinary tract problems after spaying or neutering?
Yes. Sterilized cats have a higher risk of urinary tract problems (stones/crystals). Kitten Sterilised has a balanced mineral profile (calcium 1.04%, phosphorus 0.95%) that keeps urine pH at an ideal level, and supports urinary health.
